“Trump administration” is killing potentially billions

The current geopolitical developments – primarily driven by the “Trump administration” – represent the worst-case scenario: a complete disaster. The level of destruction caused by this administration is, by far, the most severe compared to anything humanity has endured thus far – including World War II.

There are many highly questionable developments – sometimes even in the “name of God” or “for Love” – against humanity, originating from the “Trump administration.” But the by far worst is the outright suppression and denial of global warming, climate change, and the loss of biodiversity. If anyone still believes that Mr. Trump or the “Trump administration” is, to any extent, a “peace administration,” they are severely misled by populist actions.

Minus 40% of global annual “greenhouse gas” emissions within the upcoming 5 years would mean successful (geo)politics

There is currently a clear and urgent task for global politics – and this is the by far most important “key performance indicator” (KPI) for humanity: A 40% reduction in global annual greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2030—within the next five years (cf. e.g. graph from Ed Hawkins: Global Climate Stripes 1850-2024, showyourstripes.info; see also the following graph).

There are not just “some risks” in failing to meet this KPI successfully – this is the worst possible scenario in Strategic Management – where the risk is unknown and the situation is beyond human control.

No CEO would ever allow this to happen to their corporation – they would act immediately to mitigate the risk by:

• fully understanding and researching the risk,
• precisely quantifying it, and
• implementing decisive actions to reduce it to an acceptable level.

“Deals” are, in essence, the antithesis of good politics – even for a competent CEO, “deals” are a poor concept when it comes to ensuring long-term prosperity for a corporation.

(In financial terms, Mr. Trump is not even significantly successful as a businessman – Mr. Musk, for example, is far more successful in terms of wealth and income.)

Mr. Musk ought to spend his money for climate actions

The “richest men” – such as Mr. Musk – became wealthy with the help of all those working to address global warming, climate change, and biodiversity loss: scientists, journalists, activists, and politicians.

Everyone involved in raising awareness and understanding of these issues – most of whom work for low incomes, in precarious employment, face suppression, or even risk their lives – has laid the foundation for his progress.

If anything, Mr. Musk ought to direct his wealth precisely to these individuals – without their work, no Tesla would ever have been sold!

It is their efforts that established the “market” for zero-emission cars. Yes, Mr. Musk delivered a feasible solution with Tesla – combining a high-performance charging infrastructure with a car of decent range.

Today, we know he did not do it to mitigate global warming – he did it to amass a fortune.

It could not be more absurd

I myself got a Tesla in the very early stage – one of the first customers in Austria, back in 2014. I could not be more disappointed by the latest developments – it could not be more absurd.

A man who became rich with a product mitigating global warming – an electric car – is now collaborating with a U.S. administration that suppresses, denies, and actively works against climate mitigation (for example, by closing down the NOAA – National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration).

Facing the potentially greatest catastrophe in human history, increasing budgets for weapons against each other – NATO vs. Russia, and so on – and spending billions on “deterrence and defence” could not be more absurd.

The greatest “Return on Investment” (ROI) for security, defence, and peace today is investing in:

• mitigating global warming,
• reducing global GHG emissions, and
• developing global democracy.

Reducing global GHG emissions should be by far the most urgent & important topic for geopolitics

Without a significant reduction in global GHG emissions (– 40% within the next five years, by 2030) – global warming is likely to become exponential. This is because tipping points will be reached, and technologically unstoppable self-reinforcing cycles will be activated.

Every CEO confronted with such a scenario for their corporation would immediately push for decisive action – to secure the long-term prosperity and profitability of their company.

Global climate actions are clearly insufficient and are killing people

Stop the war in Ukraine. Stop the war in Gaza. Stop the war in Sudan. Stop the destructive debate around “tariffs.”

Instead, concentrate on the real security threat to humanity – and radically transform our economies and societies by moving away from fossil fuels and meat production.

The “Trump administration” fails on the currently by far most important KPI for humanity

While Europe, China, and India are making progress in transforming their energy supply toward renewables and emission-free sources – and shifting to healthier nutrition with less meat – the “Trump administration” is actively working against it.

There could be no greater scandal in (geo)politics – and I urge the (global) media to give this the attention and awareness it demands!

Global warming is not a “soft topic” – it is the most severe, hard, and best-researched threat to billions of livelihoods and lives – now.

The danger posed by global warming due to GHG emissions is unimaginably severe because its impact is slow and delayed we – see a 30-year lag between emissions and actual temperature rise) – and technologically unstoppable.

In front of the G7 summit, we ask global media to focus on mitigating global warming

We are facing the by far worst humanitarian catastrophe, we did a first scenario on the potential development. We did it, to be wrong. Please prove us wrong.

Prove that humanity is capable of foresight, conscious action, and responsibility.
Prove that we can act early enough to prevent this scenario:

• billions losing their livelihoods,
• billions of refugees,
• wars and hostility over dwindling resources,
• droughts, hunger, and people starving or dying of thirst.
