The IDGR is a private, and therefore independent, initiative to develop a healthy and thus sustainable balance between global liberated markets (economic globalisation) and the global regulatory frameworks thereby required.
To make this dream actually become a reality, IDGR delivers insights, is taking action and carries out research to push forward and establish the strong, stable, powerful, and democratically legitimised global governance structure (political globalisation) needed to achieve this balance and foster a healthy and thus sustainable global society. We call this a Global Democratic Republic.

The development of a Global Democratic Republic is clearly an act of collaboration and is essential in the context of the global crises we currently face. In our view, the most critical issues are global warming, climate disruption, and biodiversity loss. These are primarily driven by increasing “greenhouse gas” (GHG) emissions – resulting from both the burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas) and industrial meat production – and by continued deforestation.
Our analysis of key data, including reports from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), indicates that a humanitarian catastrophe is imminent. This crisis will materialise faster and more severely than official projections indicate and most of us currently imagine.
This is the very sad story, mostly related to the mimetic human forces (greed, vanity, envy, jealousy, group-think) and unleashed global markets, which we believe are the root cause of this unhealthy development. We are convinced: We as humanity have the potential to learn, and we can focus or transmit or divert our mimetic human forces towards acts of love, peace, connection, collaboration, health promotion, and sustainability.
World War II enabled the development of the United Nations (UN). This looming societal collapse now offers the chance to create and develop something that once seemed utopian. Something that might be the greatest step forward in the history of human development, global peace, wealth, and prosperity. It is global (direct) democracy, based on strong, (direct) democratically legitimised global institutions with a clear and strong separation of powers (checks and balances) – a Global Democratic Republic.
