“Democracy without Borders” (DwB) performed a global survey with 177k people covering 101 countries (home from 90% of the global population) asking the following question:
“Would you support or oppose the creation of a citizen-elected World Parliament to handle global issues?”
“Democracy without Borders” (DwB) 2025 Nira Data World Survey
The results strongly support our thesis about people wanting a much stronger global governance democratically legitimised. The majority of 40% “strongly” or “somewhat” support the creation of a global parliament, 33% are “neither” and only 27% are “somewhat” or “strongly” opposed.
“The message is clear: people around the world are ready to expand democratic representation to the global scale.”
Andreas Bummel, Executive Director of “Democracy Without Borders” (DwB)
