Abstract of paper for “No Limits to Hope“ (Club of Rome)
The long-term goal from the IDGR is to develop a as much as possible grassroots legitimised so called “Global Democratic Republic” (GDR).
To reach this goal, we think learning and very early socialising kids towards a self-conceptualisation as “global citizen” is key and most important. Kids growing up with the understand of “we are one planet” and “everything is interconnected”. This will prevent nationalism by teaching and not even building up (national) borders and walls within their brains.
With this project, we want to rethink teaching within elementary and primary schools towards “global citizenship”. We want to transfer the current learning & teaching based on the understanding: “We are one planet with plural different cultures.”
